These pages contain representations of original watercolor and pastel studies of male nudes.

I have been developing a style that better invokes the warmth of skin tones in a naturalistic manner. By definition, these works are drawings. But, through a technique that I've refined, which involves the application of multiple layers of color, these compositions have a depth and translucency that is generally only achieved in painting. Many of these "drawings" have actually been done on canvas rather than paper.

I create works from live models as well as from photographs. The images on this site are part of several series of compositions I am currently working on:

1) Vintage gay erotica - My focus here is on the innocence and humorous narratives in earlier gay erotic images.

2) Wrestling - This series captures scenarios of men in contact that is not overtly sexual but still erotically charged.

3) Amateurs - These works are based on the wealth of amateur photographs posted on the Internet by men into exhibitionism. My desire is to expose a humor and sensuality inherent in these images of guys who are not professional models.

The original drawings are on acid-free archival paper. All drawings are matted to fit standard-sized frames. Signed and matted prints are also available. They are printed on archival paper using light-fast photo quality inks. Framing is available at extra cost.
